Highlights for November 14th, 2009 Board of Directors Meeting
Central Ontario ATV Club did an amazing job with the 2009 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and profited $2652.76
The 2010 AGM has been awarded to Nation Valley ATV Club (Winchester, ON), and will take place on June 4th through 6th 2010
Any Clubs interested in hosting the 2011 AGM should contact Shannon at the OFATV office as soon as possible
The Trails Committee has three new documents that were adopted into OFATV policy: “Chief Trail Warden Duties”, “Club Trail Coordinator Duties” and “Trail Verification Process”. These documents have been sent out to all Club Presidents for implementation
The OFATV would like to welcome our new Executive; Bruce Murphy is returning for his second term as President, Paul Makey; our former 2nd Vice President is returning as our new Vice President, Steve Lane; former District 2 Director, is our new 2nd Vice President, and Eric Mannetje; former District 8 Director, is our new Secretary/Treasurer. Congratulations Gentleman!
Dufferin Grey ATV Club has been moved from District 4 into District 9, as this is the District in which they were incorporated in
Dave Brown is the returning Alternate Director for District 9
The OFATV would like to welcome our newest Club; Glendalers Winter Sports Club joins us in District 1 and brings along with them a membership base of approximately 500 members
The OFATV was granted an additional contract to populate the Ontario Tourism website with ATV adventure stories. The OFATV office is requesting your assistance in obtaining content (articles) from our Clubs to feature on the website. Please contact Shannon at the OFATV office for further details or if you are interested in providing an article featuring your area.
Bruce Murphy, President of OFATV challenged the Board of Directors to engage themselves with the local clubs more. Many of our members report that they have little knowledge of what is happening at the OFATV. Bruce indicated that an easy way to resolve this concern is to make sure that the Directors are speaking directly to each Club Executive and their members. Moving forward during each board of directors meetings, each director will provide a quick brief of what is going on within their appointed district.
The OFATV is seeking someone with a marketing background to assist with articles for Go Riding magazine
The Trails Committee has been tasked with investigating the possible issues and restrictions with allowing side by side machines on OFATV trails and report back to the Board
The OFATV received $600,000 in the National Trails Coalition grant
